The other day while at Wal-Mart I spotted these $3 popsicle moulds. I try to (as often as possible) make things myself. That way I know exactly what goes in to it and I can pronounce every ingredient - especially when I'm making things for Little Chicken.
So, with the weather finally getting warmer I thought this would be a great idea to get some extra fruit in to my family. My husband loves fruit popsicles, but the ones you buy in store are full of so many extra ingredients. I like simple ingredients I know and can pronounce.
For my first go, I decided to try something simple. Frozen berries, vanilla yogurt and chia seeds (after mixing I decided to throw in a tbsp of honey for the hell of it). If there is an opportunity for me to throw chia seeds in to something, I go for it. So, with my trusty Nutribullet in hand, I made these homemade berry pops.
I'm looking forward to when our local farmers market starts up in June so I can get my hands on some fresh, local produce for these bad boys.
Use any fruit you like and add in things like Chia or Flax seed for added nutrition
Little Chicken approves
* Note: I did have to add about a tsp of water to the top of each mold to help with freezing. After about 3 hours in the freezer I went to pull one out and only the stick came out. The water did the trick perfectly.
